I did stuff.

My little contribution to the 'make fanart for Older' community. :)

This one was inspired by one of my favorite scenes, the pre-gallery bit.

Older

Now this is really different than anything I've ever done before. It took me like fifteen minutes and [info]crazybunny's assurance that it didn't suck to get me to post it.

For Marishna

That's it for now. Am taking a litttle photoshop break and then working on a couple more pieces before heading to bed. :)

Oh, babes.

You mentioned something about pieces of my body?

Are you hitting on me? I think you are. That's okay, doll. ::pats the the empty seat next to her:: Why, don't you, uh, sit over here? ::winks::

LOL You know I heart you too.

Yes, I'm hitting on you coz your pieces (attached and non-attached) turn me on. *bats eyelashes*

::gropes crazybunny::

Oops. Sorry. I think I moved too fast. Damn it. I've never hit on a girl before. Most girls like things slow, right? I'm asking because I don't. I'm a wild child.

Yes, my pieces turn you on. It's cause I'm so smooth. I moisturize, you know?

*smiles coyly*

Oh no, no, no. You see, I'm not most girls, so you can grope with your pieces all you want. *winks*

::licks your rhinestone toering::

Holy GOD woman! That's so fucking beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. It's like a movie poster n' shit! Damn. Can I pretend Older is a movie? Can I?

And the one for Marishna is gorgeous.

Thank you.

Re: ::licks your rhinestone toering::

What? You mean it's NOT a movie? And here I've been checking your LJ, waiting for announcements on when the DVD would be released. ::pouts::

Thank YOU for being an amazing talent and writing such brilliant tales. I'm in love with everything that you write. Just glad I can show my appreciation in some form. :)

Nice manip! I wasn't even sure it was a manip until I looked reeeaaally close. Good work!

And the second piece is quite striking! I don't typically go for this kind of piece, but this one really works. How did you get that effect?? I'm impressed! :D

Okay. I don't know you, but I now love you. That has got to be one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me about my fanart.

How did you get that effect??

I pretty much use Photoshop and lots of filters. Lots of filters.

I was in the moment when I did Marishna's. Forgot to take notes... But I'm doing another in which I'm trying to follow that format and this time I'm writing down the process. When I have it, I'll post a tutorial on here. :)

Okay. I don't know you, but I now love you.

:) Hee! I followed the link you posted in Nauti's Older group. (I made an Older homage too; posted it a little while back in my LJ.)
I've never done any manips as I'm too whussy, but I'm always impressed when someone does a really good job. Like you did. :)

I pretty much use Photoshop and lots of filters. Lots of filters.

Yeah, I could tell it was mostly a filter thing. That's why I said I don't usually go for "this kind" of piece, since anyone can just slap a filter on an image and say "Hey, look what I did!" But this piece is obviously so much more than that. You clearly did a lot of work (or just really clever work) and it turned out being really interesting and pleasing to look at.
Do you remember which filters you used?

[info]battlekitten

September 4 2003, 22:55:39 UTC 8 years ago

I totally agree on the filter thing. I actually feel that same way about brushes, which is why I rarely use any. 'sides it's way easy getting brush effects by just using your shape tools -- and then using filters on those. ;)

I'm a complete color, shape and filter girl.

It's hard for me to sometimes explain to people how I do things because I rarely use less than five filters and I don't always keep track of what I do. I think on the one I did for Marishna, it involved a lot of playing with contrast and grainy filters to get a 'drawn' type of look. And then I might have overlayed the 'drawn' layer over a layer of the original blend. I'll eventually put a couple of tutorials up on my site, when it's up again. The best tip that I can give you is to experiment. Most of the stuff I do is by trial and error. I usually make lots of layer copies when doing a project (just incase I screw up) and the "Undo" option is my best friend. :)

Great work! I followed Nauti's link too. I absolutely love the Older one, and the Mortal love one is haunting. V. good!

...Mortal love one is haunting.

Thank you so much for that. I'm my own worst critic. Get really hard on myself when I do new things. I was hoping that image would come across with a sad, haunting feel.. but I didn't think I'd pulled it off.

So again, thanks! :)
