I'm like stuck at home! Okay, not really. I could go out if I wanted to, but umm, I get as far as the door. The cold scares me. :(

So anyway, I was going to wait until I finished all of my fanart and make one big post, but I'm impatient. Plus, posting as I finish each one makes me feel more productive.

Yes, I'm actually getting stuff done today. Have spent the afternoon alternating between working on fanart and a couple of snippets for the forum. I did two new layouts for two sites that I'm working on. Now I'm working on some wallpapers so that I can finally update Wicked.

This one is for wherethewind__. It's one of two. I'm doing the link thing because it turned out kind of big. Like, don't click if you don't like slash or Spangel, mmkay? And if you do like Spangel and haven't read her story, go read it!

What I am thankful for this year:

My family. We might bicker and not talk to each other 50% of the time but I love them to pieces.

My friends. I *heart* you guys! Those that I know offline and have been around throughout the years. Those that I've met online at the various Buffy forums -- you guys are the ones that make coming online worthwhile.

My health, of course.

My career. I may bitch about my lack of time, but I love what I do. There's no other place that I'd rather work, and I have money now.. so that has to be good, right?

There's a lot more but I want to go eat...

I will give a special shout out to my cybernetic partner in crime, crazybunny, who was sweet enough to send me a thanksgiving e-mail even though she's all the way in Australia and doesn't celebrate the holiday: Your friendship is definitely one of the things that I'm really grateful for this year. From the moment we met over at the SA Forums, where you commented on wanting JM to go to the down under, and I conveniently read that as wanting JM to go down under. That day, you laughed and proved to be as sick as me and I found a new good friend. You're the bettest gal pal a girl could want! You're there when I'm angry and listen to my insane and bitter ranting. You're there when I'm in silly mode and listen to my silly ramblings. You're always there to support whatever project I'm on, be it my latest fanart piece or attempt #123 to write a fanfic. Smart, funny, silly and caring. Barely but I am... I was freaking tired today, yo. I worked late 'cause since it's a short week the boss is trying to accomplish as much as possible. As soon as I walked through the door to my room tonight, I was ready to pass out.

I don't usually get this bad til Thursday, so yes, I'm blaming my tiredness on the short week. One more day! ::squeals:: I work from noon to 5 tomorrow and then I'm all set for the nice long holiday break.

What will I do during this holiday break?

1- Sleep
2- Eat a lot of goodies on Thanksgiving
3- Finish a few of my many fanart pieces
4- Work on adding some of those pieces to my site, and attempt to make my predesigned layouts available
5- Read a new book
6- Catch up on fanfiction updates
7- Go back to being a brunette.
8- Watch old scary movies! That's right. I want to have a scary movie marathon Friday night. Have started a very short list of movies: Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Gate, Ghoulies! I didn't know there were sequels. Why was I not told about the little toilet demons going to college? ::sighs:: Anyway, definitely need more movies.. those were just the ones I could think of at the moment. And I heart vickyvicktor! I couldn't remember Ghoulies. Well, I remembered the movie.. I just couldn't remember the name. I was going around asking people about the little carnival demons that ate people and no one knew what I was talking about, but he did. Now if I could only find that movie about those gnome type demons...

What I did this weekend

Absolutely nothing. Nada. Not one productive thing. I loved every minute of it too. On Saturday, thanks to Annie, I opened up my old Sims game. We both are easily amused and spent the night laughing at the things we made the Simmy dolls do. My Simmy!Spike doesn't want to be gay. I tried making my own Spangel love fest on the game but Spike is more interested in watching TV and following Simmy!Buffy around. Simmy!Angel pretty much lives for going over to people's houses, eating their food, and dancing like a dork infront of their stereos. Simmy!Dawn got abducted by aliens. Simmy!Tara is in love with Drusilla, it's unrequited love though. Simmy!Dru likes to play with the neighborhood strays. Simmy!Giles is addicted to showering.

On Sunday, I stayed away from the comp. Watched the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy marathon, went to the store to pick up some erasers and carbon pencils, and started working on a couple of drawings.

Oh, we can phone in posts now?! Sweet. I might try that later today, I would do it now but I'm having my early lunch. Doubt people want to hear me munch on onion rings and slurp my Diet Coke.

It's been a crazy past couple of weeks. I've been working until 5:30 or 6 PM, coming home to eat dinner, and then working some more until an hour or two before bed. My social life was starting to suffer again. Only friends that I was talking to where those who call my cell or e-mail me. ::hugs Dee::

Not that I mind...I love my job. I just love it more when I don't have rush to beat deadlines.

I'm way behind on my fic reading and LJ friends page. If you've written a story update recently and I haven't commented on it, I just haven't read it. :( I'm going to try to catch up on the stories this week, and I will submit reviews like a good little fic reader!

I'm glad that some people enjoyed the last mini tutorial that I posted. :) I'll try to put another one up this week for texturizing your photos. The tutorials that I may post are simply for Adobe PhotoShop v.7+. I don't really break them down into simple steps, like I wont explain how to create layers, etc. A couple of people did contact me last time via e-mail and AIM to get further instructions. If I post something and you want clarification, feel free to contact me either way. Unless I'm super busy with work, I don't mind helping out. :)

Edited to add: Now I remember why I stopped trying to update. LJ's wicked slowness and 'Cannot Find Server' error messages. Ooh. Fun!

Fake!Paintings

My current favorite thing to do in Photoshop.

(in PhotoShop) Open up the image that you want to use. Works better if the photo is of high quality.

1) Make a layer copy of the original image.

2) With the new copy (layer) selected, go to: Filter - Stylize - Find Edges.

3) Before you move anything or do anything else, go to: Edit - Fade Find Edges - select a number between 40% and 60%. Then, go to: Image - Adjustments - Invert.

4) Now, with the distorted image still selected, Overlay that layer over the original one. Doesn't have to be "Overlay"... I just find that depending what effect you want - Overlay, Soft Light or Screen work better. Can also play with the Opacity until you're satisfied with your painted image.

5) When happy with the results, merge the two layers together. And finally, play with lighting and colors.

-On Aly's I lowered the Opacity 'cause I wanted to give the image a sharper look. So the above procedure isn't only good for making fake painting but for making sharp/soft images...if that makes any sense.

Damn frakker went down last night. I didn't think much of it though 'cause it was late and I was about to head off to bed anyway. When I got up this morning and it still wouldn't let me connect, I screamed. Really loud. Then I spent all day at work pouting and cussing over the thought of having to come home and having to call my DSL provider. Thankfully, I didn't have to do anything because my connection was up again when I got home. ::hugs her modem::

Not that having my 'net connection mattered today. Didn't do anything online tonight. Didn't even chat with my friends. I spent most of the evening in bed, read a bit, worked on my Darkchylde drawing. Then, when I finally made it to the comp, I worked on my Spangel story. Up to 14 1/2 pages and I'm still all inspired and stuff. I think this is the most that I've ever written when it comes to Buffy FanFiction. Might actually finish Part 1 of this story this weekend. If I do it'll be up at the spuffelus forum.

I still haven't been able to take that Trick or Treat meme. Someone broke it! Blames crazybunny and her giving people socks! S'okay. I'll just sit home on Halloween and hog the candy bowl.

I slept a little over 10 hours today. Got up all refreshed and stuff, though now my body is all screwed up due to the time change. It's only 6:30 but it feels so much later.. like the day is just dragging by. Not that I mind by all means, no rush to go back to work here.

I'm all giddy because I was slapped with the creative stick today. Really! A muse just popped out of nowhere. I was writing a little Spuffelus snippet for the forum and now I'm 10 1/2 pages into a Spangel fic. I'm so proud. ::sniffles and wipes away a tear:: Hey, this is a big deal for me. I do fanart. I don't write fiction, EVER. The fact that I've written 10 pages in one afternoon and still have ideas for more writing is making me all bouncy. I might actually finish a story. Surprising that my first fic would be Spangel. I've tried getting into fanfiction by writing Spuffy stuff and always end up with nothing.

I did take a break to give my LJ a makeover. It's taking me some getting used to, but I likes. Tried to match the colors to my site.

Now that I've filled myself with caffeine and sugar (Coke and brownie) I'll return to the Spangel lurve fest. Adios.

I can't say that I'm surprised by the results. My Halloween costumes have always been girlish or slutty. I think my worst one was when I dressed up as a pirate. The outfit consisted of a ripped blouse and mini skirt. Yeah, what the frak was I thinking?

I'm still getting over the flu/cold...which is why I've made cameos this week on the forum and AIM, but have mostly been away. I get all babyish when I'm sick. Want to spend all of my time cuddled up in bed reading, watching TV, or drawing. Getting better though! I actually went out shopping today and strangers talked to me! I'm over the Rudolph sniffly stage, which is so so attractive.

Now I'm supposed to work on a couple of snippets for the forum, one for the bad!fic thread and a spuffelus one, but I keep getting distracted by the Halloween movies on AMC and Bravo. Watching Frankenstein now, Planet of the Apes is on AMC.

Oh yeah, I was just reminded that there's a time change tonight. An extra hour of sleep. Life is good.

I've been fighting off a cold since last weekend and the bitca finally won. I have all of the not so lovely symptoms that come along with having a cold. I hate being sick because I don't get ill often, so when I finally do it hits me really hard.

...Ghost!Spike. I haven't had much time lately, not that I'll complain seeing as my free time has been spent not working, but having fun.

Anyway, here's my simple little manip of the night. I was originally going for an entire scene: Putting all of the Buffy gals in gowns, dressing up Giles and Xander. Was attempting to show some type of dinner party with ghost!Spike lurking around Buffy. I still might. Guess you can call this one a warm up.

No brushes were used in this one. It was done purely by manipulation and filters.

I guess before I go I'll make mention on what happened this past week. Some of you might know what I'm talking about, some might not. That's okay.

I think some things were said that needed to be addressed. I wasn't all for the bashing and namecalling. I logged online that evening and was messaged by people whom I rarely ever spoke to before, asking me what was going on and testing to see which side I was on. I decided right then and there to sit this one out. I have my opinions, just didn't feel that day was the best day to voice them. And things have calmed down now, so I'll keep them to myself a little longer.

And for my dearie crazybunny:
I haven't talked to you these past couple of days, so of course, gotta tell you an office story!

This one involves no guys. Just me and a typewriter. Dude, it died on me! I might have killed it, I'm not sure. ::shakes head:: Me and typewriters are not mixable things. I'm a computer gal.

Anyway. I was preparing to type something for an account. I fed the paper into the typewriter, set up my tabs. Started typing away the date, hit return, and it didn't um, go to the next line. After hitting the return button like six times, I was all 'what the frik?' I looked closer and noticed that when I typed the date for some reason it only got as far as the fourth character, after that it typed everything on the same character. Instead of 10-16-03, it was like 10-1(6-03 all on top of eachother). I turned the power off and back on again, and the thing got crazy! It was all sputtering and stuff. It sounded like a freakin machine gun. I think it wanted to kill me! To top it off, the frakker wouldn't give me my paper back!

My boss was walking towards the restroom at that moment, so I flailed at my arms and yelled out 'Save me!' He inspected it and determined that I was insane and its motor died, or something. He unplugged it and took it with him, said he was going to get it repaired. I hope it gets lost or smashed to bits, I hate that typewriter. ::pouts::

There was an accident by the office today and instead of trying to check on the situation like any nosey person might do, I was standing by the side of the road checking out the scrumptious EMTs.

Last week, some men from the Fire Dept. stopped by our office building to inspect something in the basement. One of them was fully decked in his fireman gear. I was in swoonville.

I need help...or quite possibly a good looking fireman. Police officer would be good too. Okay, stopping now.

Simple little manip that I did tonight. I'm working on making some photoshop tutorials for my site. So you can probably expect more of these as I have to take screen shots and jot down the procedures that I use to get the different effects.

I know that I said my fan art site was going to be up this weekend, but now it's highly doubtful that it's going to happen. It just takes a lot longer than my collective one because I have to arrange all of the art and the few fics that I had before. I'm just really not in a coding mood tonight. Spent all of this morning and evening cleaning my room. I boxed away all of my summer clothes and well, clothes that I don't wear anymore. Filled my closet with my winter clothing and all the new stuff that I got.

I went shopping yesterday. Threw away close to a hundred dollars on two sweaters and a B&W silk princess top that was on sale. Oh! And I got my mommy a purse. Just 'cause she was cute and went shopping with me. She hates going shopping with me. I walk into every single store that looks appealing and I take forever. I am the monster that my dad created. Really, he spoiled the fuck out of me. He would buy stuff for me all the time, still does. Whenever I got sick, he'd go out and buy me something just to cheer me up.

Anyway, enough about me. I did take photoshop breaks in between cleaning. I realized it's been a long time since I uploaded anything, so until I get the site running, which will be soon (as in before next weekend soon) I swear! I'll post my stuff here.

I don't know. I ended up manipulating a promo pic of Spike with Angel, and then just kept adding stuff and it came out like this.

Don't know where the fuck I was going with this one. I think I was originally trying to do something to show her different looks. Now it just makes me think of a Buffy!Triplet fanfic. Which I think someone should definitely write. If it's been already written, point me too it, babes!

And now back to my scheduled procrastination. I will munch on a brownie and slurp Diet Coke, as I surf for all of the fic updates that I've missed in the past few days.

Kay. ::munches on her bagel:: I'm in depresso mode. What is up with the new spoiler going around that Spike fucks Harmony (or gets close to doing so) in episode 8? Then apparently he hits her because she bites him or attacks him in some way. ::sighs:: Now, I know that in the episode there is some virus or mystical thing going around, but this still annoys me. I also know that Harmony seems to be under the influence of whatever is going around, but what about Spike?

I really am not opposed to Spike moving on, with the right person, don't believe Harmony is it, but not this soon. I don't want this to turn into another Buffy season six, where Spike sleeps with/uses people in order to prove to himself that he's over Buffy or better than Angel or whatever. And is he still a ghost by episode?

If any of you are super spoiled, I've been kind of MIA lately and I'm trying to catch up, is it true that Angel has sex with Eve? Not in that same episode, apparently in a couple of episodes before that.

...it's cold in here!! Meh. Who said it could be so cold? It happened so fast, I never knew what hit me. Last Monday, I was walking around in jeans and a blouse, but for the past couple of days I've had to bring out the winter jackets. It's so cold that I'm sitting at my computer wearing my pj bottoms, a hoodie, and I'm wrapped in a blanket.

And what's up with LJ? I tried to update my user pictures and it kept fraking up. I tried to comment on people's LJs and got error messages. So yeah, if you don't see a response from me in your LJ and you're someone that I talk to frequently, I *meant* to respond! In any case, I miss you guys and "Hi!" If you're someone that I don't talk to frequently, "Hi!"

I should have my main page for in-fatuation up this weekend, finally! I know. I should also have my Spuffy Fan Art page running soon. With it being so cold, I find myself wanting to stay home. My spare time is increasing, so I'll be able to work on more fanart. Especially some ghost!Spike pieces, since I heart marishna and she seems to like them.

I've also decided to stick with FanArt. Instead of doing an archive site, I'm just going to do a second fanart site for Spike/Angel stuff. I also might do an Alias fanart site...seem to be falling into that fandom.

I have to get my Spuffy crack somewhere. Since Joss Whedon is no longer providing it, I had to jump on the Sarkney ship. I almost missed the boat, as it started setting sail as I approached the dock, but I made it! Am currently lounging in a chair on the deck, looking through a So You Love Sarkney pamphlet while crazybunny gathers us some smutty, err, good fanfiction.

Work is good again, I'm back on just doing artwork. I had to have a talk with the Powers that Be and tell them: "Dudes, I can't do this shit anymore." Seriously, I was getting home late and drained. Last thing I wanted to do was hop on the comp and it was getting to the point where I wasn't taking any calls and whenever someone IMed me I'd get all ::growl, growl, growl:: I was just not wanting to deal with anything or anyone. I did do a lot of reading. I read four books in one week. Reading those four books made me wonder...Does one have to have marriage and babies in order to have a happy ending? In three of those four books, the stories were completed with the characters vowing their love, proposing and voicing their desire for babies. It's become a turn off for me when books end like that. It's like I go through the entire story and when I get to the "Will you marry me?" "Yes, I will. Can we have babies?" "I love you!" part, I just roll my eyes. And these aren't even the typical Harlequin romance novels. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm young and the last thing on my mind is marriage and kids. I don't know.

Anyway, I've started working on my site again. Those who I have promised to help with their layouts or fanart, I'll still do so. I promise! I just really need to get my site out there again. It's been on hold for almost a month. After playing with a few non-vector layouts, I'm starting to like the comic look. Think I might end up going with this for my BTVS FanArt page or something close to that. Err, yeah, if you click on the link out of curiousity - don't mind the content and stuff. It's all filler that I grabbed from two of my old sites.

I need new music. I realized this morning when I drove to work, that it's been like three months since I last changed the CDs in my CD Changer. I'm listening to the Indie Rock channel on Netscape radio, good songs, yo, good songs.

How nice is it to not have to do anything? Very nice. Things are starting to wind down at work. I actually got home on time tonight, and I did absolutely nothing. It was awesome! Just vegged in my PJs, ate ice cream and watched a rerun of The OC, followed by Paradise Hotel -- which I didn't get, but it didn't matter 'cause I was just thrilled that I had a free night. Tomorrow I'm going shopping after work. I'm putting that much faith that I'll get out on time to hit the mall. It's a shopping appointment. They can't keep me working if I have an appointment. Yes, I'm bad with money and stores and clothes and shoes. Whoever the lucky man that marries me is, one thing is for sure, he's going to have to be massively rich or patient.

I still remember the incident when I was sixteen. My best friend and I worked in the same office building. We both ditched work three hours early just so that we could drive to the mall and get the new Backstreet Boys CD. ::hangs head in shame:: That's how bad I was then, now I just go shopping after work.

Anyway, have missed my online buddies. Will have to catch up with ya'll soon. :)

So I've been a little MIA lately. I know. I've received e-mails and IMs asking where the frilly heck I am. I'm here. Have just been working on a few things, and now you can see one of them.

I'm also working on my website layout. I know it's taking a long time, but I've had an increase in work lately - to the point where I've been doing some work from home. Majorly sucks. And I'm super picky so I keep scrapping everything that I do. I might just end up making a temporary non-vector layout.

For now, I'm going to go catch up on all the fic updates that I haven't had the chance to read.

I lost my internet connection last night.

Then, I realized what a sad individual the internet has made of me.

Okay, here's the story. I was sitting at my comp late last night. Had a billion programs opened, not to mention a couple of IMs and a chatroom. I tried to move an image in PhotoShop, and *poof* my monitor flickered and turned itself off. Took me a second to realize that everything in my room had turned itself off. Like a minute later, the power came back on. I squealed with joy, then started setting the time on my clocks. Oh, fun! Then my happy face went away when I realized that my comp wasn't finding my DSL modem. I was going crazy trying to find out why it wasn't working. Turns out that my ethernet cable, umm died. ::sniffles and mourns her ethernet cable:: I had to get another one today. But it's okay, 'cause I'm back online and that's what matters. Did I mention how sad I was?

On the bright side my computer wasn't down, so I managed to entertain myself in Photoshop and by taking Lemonade Tycoon breaks. Oh yeah, my lemonade is the talk of the town!

Don't expect to post much/any fanart this week. I'm working on a website for a very special lady. It seems to be moving along quite quickly. When it's all done, you'll all be able to see it. Yay!
